11 Lovely Crochet and Beauty Handbag Patterns for New Season
Velvet Tote Bag Crochet Pattern
This easy purse or project tote is the perfect size, and super easy to make! The pattern is quick and easy – you can make one in a weekend with my favorite textured velvet yarn!
This is an easy level crochet pattern, and the techniques you will need to know are half double crochet, working in the third loop only, working in the round, and slip stitch.
I love a good tote bag (seriously, who doesn’t?) but I wanted a little more luxury with my utility. So when I had a bunch of my favorite velvet yarn laying around I knew I wanted a squishy circular tote to hold my projects.
I love the luxe mixed media look of leather and super soft velvet, so I knew I wanted a sleek leather handle with my eggplant velvet bag. I love the cognac brown leather and the sturdiness it adds to my squishy bag – especially when it’s weighted down with half a dozen skeins of yarn!
I held the yarn double for this bag so that it had a tad bit more structure to keep the circular shape but this yarn is so pliable and drapey that the bag moves really naturally. It doesn’t squish my project because the structure is a little more rigid, but it also hasn’t lost it’s shape. Win win!
Mochila Bag Crochet Pattern
This Mochila pattern features a Bernat Maker Home Yarn pattern. Knowledge of tapestry crochet and changing colors is essential for this pattern. It is also suggested how to read a graph. This is a backpack style bag with a single strap that is worn across the back. This bag has a drawstring closure.
Have you seen those beautiful mochila bags on Pinterest? They are so gorgeous with all their wonderful patterns and colorwork, I could look at them all day! It got me thinking, maybe I could create something like that.
The pattern for this Mochila Bag can be a little tricky if you do not know how to change colors in crochet. The good news is there are numerous videos explaining how to change colors and how to carry your yarn throughout your work.
Damascus Crochet Pattern
Named after its Damascus rosebud stitch, this discreet little handbag is springtime and if it takes a little time, making it a breeze!
It has benefited from the adjustments of its predecessor, the “Petit Frileux”, and gains in strength, in particular at the level of the handles which are reinforced this time by 2 strands of ropes.
This tutorial will give you a bag that measures 24cm high (excluding handles) x 26cm. To adapt its size, it will suffice to very easily increase the measurements of the base rectangle and the handles.
Small rosebuds, a promise of love and an invitation to travel, from the gardens of Damascus to our regions, journeys of the senses and flavors. A pretty delicate point that will bring the colors of sunny days to your works.
Slouchy Jean Tote Crochet Pattern
Jean is really in style. Not that jeans are ever out of style but now they are really in style. As you can walk down the street in New York City in your jean overalls, jean shirt, jean jacket, jean hat, and jean bag and people will say, “that chicken is put together.” This is a moment in history that we really should take advantage of.
So about that jean bag, that’s what I’m here to help. I designed the Slouchy Jean Tote to be casual, cool, go with everything, and be super practical just like your favorite jeans.
Throw your belongings in the bag, slide the back over the front and stop running after your kids. Not really… running… one of your kids is getting too close to the road and the other is about to put a pebble in his mouth. Oh, don’t forget your laptop. It fits perfectly in this tote.
Endless Summer Tote Bag Crochet Pattern
At first, I was playing with a floral theme for this design, but I wasn’t sure what I wanted to do. I thought about afghan like the 3D rose ones you may have seen, but with my interpretation of the hydrangea. I started with one square, and then a handful of ideas struck me – afghan squares are so useful! But what about a tote bag that I can use to carry my WIPs (work in progress) around ?!
As far as the lining goes, in the past I have other crocheted tote bags that I chose not to line up, and I ended up very disappointed with what they stretched out, so I made sure with the one this I added a liner to the bag itself, and the strap.
If you don’t want to operate a full tote bag, you can use this pattern to do more shaving by subtracting rounds on the body of the bag, and then create a small flap to hold your goodies, or you could a zipper.
Puff Stitch Market Bag Crochet Pattern
This crochet market bag pattern is beautiful with the puff stitch. You’ll love how it works up, and how beautiful the Berroco Pima Yarn is. Take this crochet bag everywhere with you. It can hold anything, and it looks great. Pick up your hook and try it for yourself.
Valentine Ruffle Bag Crochet Pattern
I couldn’t resist the urge to do something fancy for Valentine’s Day! This sweet bag works fast. Choose different colors to suit any occasion!
For my Valentine Ruffle Wallet, I wanted to choose a yarn that was luxe. I decided on a Parfait with Premier Yarns. This chenille yarn has a soft, smooth feel that adds a little something special to the design. Plus, it comes in gorgeous colors like this perfect Valentinesy red.
Premier Parfait in two colors, I used about 1/2 white skeleton and 1 red skeleton.
