Zach Booties Crochet Pattern
Baby blankets and baby afghans are lovely crochet projects. They are both useful and beautiful. They make great baby shower gifts and are also great for charity knitting or crocheting.
In the photo: a sample of an Afghan heart for girls. You can make a childish version of this Afghan by using blue, green and yellow instead of the colors shown in the image.
We have published a wide selection of free Afghan baby crochet patterns. There are models for both boys and girls, and many of them are unisex too.
This pattern contains instructions for knitting in the round with 4 double pointed needles AND instructions for knitting flat (or knitting).
I prefer to knit in the round because there is only one small seam to sew.
Size: This pattern is for 0-3 months (age approx) with the length of the foot approx. 8 cm. For larger sizes, I use larger needles and encourage you to experiment.
Gauge: with 3.25mm needles 25pcs x 35 rows
Yarn: Lion brand COBOO 50% cotton, 50% bamboo rayon. I chose this yarn for its softness, but it has a tendency to split, you just have to pay attention to it. You could experiment with other yarns and I often use 2 strands of Bamboo Cotton from Oz Yarn that are just as soft.
